Amazing Race II  – 2015

In October we held our first Amazing Race.  Participants were from all ages young and older than 40.  Teams of 4 or more were sent out to complete many different challenges and events that ran over a course of about 100 km.  The race started at 1 pm at church and the first teams into the “final destination” came in  around 5 pm.  Some of the events and challenges were: milking a cow, riding a horse, wrangling goats, reciting the ten commandments, mini golf, corn maze, polkaing, and much more!! At the “final destination” chili, buns and dessert was served.  Top 3 teams got lucky on the random points scattered throughout the race.  Two pulled a 1000 point duck out of a pond.  A great time was had by all involved.

SPY Country Dinner, January 24, 2015

The St Paul’s Youth hosted a Country Dinner and Entertainment evening January 24, 2015.  The theme was country and boy was it country! There was an old western town, a sunset on the ceiling, a covered wagon for serving sarsaparilla, a barn, fencing and a ton of other decorations to make the venue feel like you step into the wild west.  Guest were invited to dress in their country gear and enjoy a family style country dinner served on tin plates.  For entertainment we had some members “thrown” in jail including the pastor.  There were auctions, bands, youth skits, square dancers and our headliner, Trevor Johnson to entertain.  It was a wildly successful evening.
