“Brothers on a Journey”  with Ray St. Germain lead the worship service Sunday, October 12.  They were very entertaining and well received by a crowd of 290 audience members.

CLAY Pasta Lunch, October 5, 2014

The youth that went to CLAY in August 2014 in Kamloops, BC lead the two services on October 5 as well as hosting a pasta buffet.  The buffet had several different sauces and pasta to choose from as well as salad and garlic bread.

 

Church Family Picnic, SundayJune 15, 2014


Despite a downpour that lasted all day, there was a great turn out for the Church family Picnic.  There was a baptism at the 10 am service at Friedensfeld Community Centre.  The service was followed by lunch and games that, unfortunately due to the rain, had to be moved inside. But great time was still had by all involved.  There was even a bouncer inside the hall.

Pentecost Sunday / Confirmation SundayJune 8, 2014


Congratulation to the Confirmation Class of 2014.  Friends, family, mentors and congregation all came out to support our youth in this important step of affirming their baptism and taking charge of their own faith and service in the church.  The church was full with 253 in attendance.  The confirmants did an excellent job.

Pioneer Girls Potluck Wind-up, April 27

The Pioneer Girls annual potluck wind-up is where the girls entertain us with singing and the girls receive their awards and gifts from their leaders.  The leaders are also recognized for their dedication to the club.

1st Steinbach Scouts, Kub Cars, April

1st Steinbach Scouts and Beavers hosted the Annual Kub Car Rally for SE Manitoba on April 12, 2014.  Here are some pictures of the groups with their Kub cars and packing for a Scouts upcoming camping trip in May.

Curling “Fun”Speil, March

St Paul’s held their annual Curling “Fun”Speil on March 23.  There were two draw times, one at 12 noon and one at 1:30 pm.  The first draw had four rinks playing on two sheets of ice.  The second draw had six rinks playing on three sheets of ice.  It was a fun event that saw beginner to pro curlers all mixed together.  There were a bunch of kids curling with their families, some who have never thrown an curling rock.  Some teams had young skips, some teams had novice skips and some were pro and very patient with the wide variety of rock weights being thrown.  After the event a potluck for around 65 people was served upstairs in the curling rink.

Lutheran Men in Mission Soup and Pie Luncheon, February

The Lutheran Men in Mission hold an Soup and Pie luncheon usually every year.  Soon after the event the Lutheran Men in Mission have a mission bus trip to New Orleans to help build houses.  Tavia gave a presentation of her mission trip to Haiti, that she took in 2013.

SPY “Fantasy Cruise” Dinner and Show, January

The St Paul’s Youth held a “Fantasy Cruise” dinner.  The hall was set up as a cruise ship that boarded at 5:30 pm.  The patrons were greeted by the Captain and the Cruise director and the live parrot, Rico.  They were given a flower lay and a complimentary virgin daiquiri.  They were then lead to their “island” table by the porters.  Dinner was fantastic and after dinner was the show.  We were entertained by the “Beach Bums”, the Captain sword fighting with Pirate Captain Jack Sparrow and our own Pastor playing banjo with Alvin.  And, of course, the youth who started the show as well as entertaining with a synchronized swimming skit and a glow in the dark dance number.
